Warts are grainy growths on skin or mucous membranes that are caused by the human papilloma virus, HPV. It is transmitted by contact or through infected surfaces/items. Warts occur most often on hands and feet, but they can appear in other body areas, like the face and genitals. Warts on the soles of the feet are usually flat, but they can be very painful.
There are several treatment methods, like topical caustic treatments (skin solution, plasters) up to more effective cryotreatment (freezing) and laser treatment.
